It's an excellent Teochew noodle place in a sleepy part of SF. It's one of the few Teochew places in the Bay Area open late at night...most Teochew noodle shops close at 6.
I LOVE Hai Ky Mi Gia in the Tenderloin so I had to check this place out.
What I like about this place:
- Ho fun 河粉 noodle soup was hot and fresh. Broth was clean tasting
- Service is SO SWEET. The two ladies here are always smiling
- Neighborhood is predominately Cantonese speaking and very quiet
- COMPLIMENTARY SOY MILK with every purchase of noodles. You can get cold or hot!
- They take credit card! The one in the TL is cash only.
Their satay sauce on the table feels more Vietnamese than Chinese because they put a lot more lemongrass.
Overall, while I actually like the taste of Hai Ky Mi Gia better (more flavor and fried garlic) these are a solid bowl of noodles, and everything about this place makes it 5-star worthy. -

The first time I had dry pho was at Ha Nam Ninh. I'm always down to try something new but I usually end up being a bit indifferent, so I was honestly surprised at how much I ended up liking the dry pho at Ha Nam Ninh, especially since so many of the individual ingredients that make up this dish are particularly unappetizing.
Anywho, I was excited to try Thai Nghiep Ky Mi Gia since it meant that I could get dry pho without going to the Tenderloin. Unfortunately, the dry pho here just wasn't comparable. -

Oh this joint is legit. When I dont feel like dodging hooman waste for a bowl of noodle
On Ellis street, I will come here.
The noodle was firm and chewy. It's $11 per bowl which I thought is pricey. But, it's probably me who has not awaken to the current state of Bay Area pricing. Good amount of fresh shrimp, cuttle fish, home made fish balls. They put this crispy shrimp wonton on top, which I thought is pretty good. The soup was comforting and like always loaded with MSG. Very addictive.
Will not order the fried fish cake again. For $8.50, the cake was not fishy or tasty enough. Just a lump of deep fried tapioca starch . -

Came here on a Saturday night and there was no wait for 2!
Food: I got the number 9, the wonton with two types of noodles, and boy do you get a lot of value for the money you pay! I loved the combo of noodles since you could have different textures of noodle alongside the duck leg to make a unique eating experience. It's also cool to get the soup on the side to dip the whole thing is. Good portions for good price.
Service: The server here is a nice old lady and she's extremely patient and will try to explain things as nice as possible. They don't check in too often.
Ambiance: Super casual eatery, a little bit dirty like a cafeteria.
Overall, a nice quick place to grab a bite in sunset! -

Clean simple noodle shop, fills my warm belly cravings and never disappoints.
It's homey and tasty. I eat dinner here with my husband in peace, and delicious! The place gets busy but there is an air of quietness and calm.... and we really get to enjoy the food!!
Our go-tos are #13 and #15. Sometimes we'll mix it up and get the soup with duck leg or the beef ball/sliced beef.... but if it's you're first time here you'll have to try what the restaurant is titled after - any of the Nghiep Ky noodles! You can order it with soup or dry, and any combination of noodles! We prefer the wide rice or wide egg. You can mix both if you are a texture lover.
I feel full, warm and satisfied after a meal here. It's not overly salty nor complex and it truly feels like a meal at home!
One Free soy milk (hot or cold) per person. They used to have signs up but now they just ask you.
Credit card accepted but minimum is $15.
Fast and friendly service and we always manage to find parking outside on the street.
